The California Budget Project (CBP) has released An Incomplete Vision: Putting the Governor’s Proposed 2014-15 Budget in Context. This is our annual in-depth “chartbook” that examines the Governor’s proposed spending plan as well as the social and economic context that will shape the budget debate.
An Incomplete Vision underscores several key areas of progress in the Governor’s proposed budget, while also highlighting where his spending proposal falls short of making much needed investments in key public systems and services that underlie strong communities and broadly shared economic growth.
The CBP’s analysis of the Governor’s proposed budget has also included an ongoing series of briefs on key components of his 2014-15 spending plan. Thus far, this series has included analyses of proposed state spending on child care and preschool, K-12 education, CalWORKs, and state corrections, with briefs on higher education and other topics slated for release in the coming weeks. Keep up with all the latest via this blog and the CBP’s website.
