Just one little problem: none of these are REALISTIC options. Unfortunately, the little thing called the 2/3 rule eliminates the possibility of any of this stuff. And for heaven's sake, the Assembly Republicans voted against a $1 increase in the VLF yesterday.

Jean Ross for Governor! In the hearings that I have attended so far, articles I have read and discussions I have been in- Jean probably puts forward the best set of some real budget solution's that California need to implement SOON. Wake up people, we have a revenue problem! Children and their families, the elderly and the disabled are not "waste, fraud and abuse" that the Governor can decimate willy nilly. If we are to protect our standard of living and boost the economy, we have to implement real budget solutions soon. No more digging deeper into the quagmire of budget cuts for vulnerable populations. Listen to the people - we said no to spending caps, no to stealing from children's services and yes to more accountability in state government.

Thank you for your clarity and leadership today and throughout this crisis. As I work to analyze the implications just for one set of cuts to families and children- child care, it is clear that we must demand a solution including revenue. We are considering policies that will sacrifice the futures of many of the low income children of this generation.
